Performance in collaboration with
the Gay Rodeo, Great Plains Rodeo Association
Tierras Libres is a project that transforms geopolitical man-made symbols -as flags and monuments- into borderless objects from nature, approaching decolonial identities through the imagery of wild vegetation and trees. The performance and installation is a common flag made of local flora from Ralph’s Ranch, and carried out by a group of cowboys from the Great Plains Rodeo Association, an LGBTQ+ community of cowboys based in Oklahoma. Cowboys and horses are united by a multi-pole series of flags, created by Braceli and visitors of Oklahoma Contemporary.
